KUALA LUMPUR: A night market trader was sentenced to three years' jail by a High Court here for plotting a terror attack on a temple and a night club in Johor Baru last year.
Jasanizam Rosni, 34, admitted to being involved in the plans to attack the temple and night club between June 27 and July 2, 2016.
He committed the offence at a house at Taman Waja, Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor.
Jasanizam had earlier claimed trial to the charge and today was fixed for hearing.
But when he appeared in court, Jasanizam pleaded guilty to the charge.
Justice Azman Abdullah told the accused to think about his actions and change the way he thinks.
"We should not adopt the way of thinking (of people) in volatile countries. It does not suit our situation here.
"You were born here, you are a citizen here, you should follow the way of life here," the judge said before sentencing Jasanizam to three years' jail to run from the date of arrest on Aug 9, 2016.
Jasanizam was represented by lawyers Ruzaini Zul and Farhan Maaruf.
DPP Muhammad Fadzlan Mohd Noor appeared for the prosecution
