MALACCA: Three elderly sisters were tied up and robbed by two parang-wielding men at their home in Kampung Pedang Sebang in Alor Gajah, near here.
The victims Aliah Abdullah, 78, Baby Amilah Abdullah, 76, and Rabiah Abdullah, 78, were fast asleep in the hall when they were rudely awaken by robbers at 4.30am Sunday.
"They warned us not to shout and placed the parang on Rabiah and me before asking for money and valuables," said Aliah, adding that the robbers entered through the window of the wooden house.
Aliah said the thieves concealed their faces with handkerchiefs and were very violent, threatening them if they attempted to scream.
"Baby Amilah had to hand over her bracelet and two gold chains while Rabiah handed over RM200," she added.
Aliah said the robbers then became angry and started ransacking the house, grabbing their handphones and only left upon hearing villagers walking to a nearby surau for morning prayers.
"We managed to release ourselves before running out to get help from neighbours," she added.
Alor Gajah OCPD Supt A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said initial investigation showed that both robbers were locals.
"We are tracking them and confident of nabbing them soon," he added.Read more at http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017/04/16/three-sisters-tied-up-and-robbed-at-their-home-in-alor-gajah/#3HbmMDRR07fP5Ewp.99
