It remains to be a must visit spot for any tourist arriving in Kuala Lumpur. If you are here for a short time and want to sample a bit of Kuala Lumpur's nightlife, this is certainly one of the top places to be at. You can see people from different races and corners of the world come together in one spot, making it Malaysia's only truly International Club.
They serve some really good food and drinks here and on Tuesday we were invited to sample one of their Signature dishes which no surprise happens to be their Italian General Manager No'1 favourite - The SkyBar Pizza's.
As any Italian will tell you, a pizza shouldn't be messed about with. I may have come across some of the most disgusting-sounding toppings in a pizzeria in the northern city of Turin ('Irish pizza' with stewed beef and potatoes, 'Russian' with caviar and vodka), but I'm pretty sure that was just for the tourists.
In fact the citizens of Naples, who are credited with inventing the pizza as we know it in 1889 in honour of the king's wife, Margherita, secured official EU protected status for their pizza, to distinguish it from inferior imitations. For a pizza to be called Neopolitan, amongst other stipulations it must be topped with genuine buffalo mozzarella and the tastiest San Marzano tomatoes.
What is a perfect pizza nowdays is really up to an individuals taste and preference, but i believe a great pizza must have thin crust that has a crunch but still chewy, with a good amount of mozzarella cheese that will make a great bed for whatever topping you are going to put on it. There cant be too much sauce or the dough will get soggy.
We were served with all 5 of their pizza's on offer and that's when the fun started. Nothing beats the feeling of sharing food with friends and sharing a pizza is the same.

Traders Hotel Pizza's came with Truffle Oil! As the pizza's came we all dug in pulling at a slice almost at the same time. The truffle oil certainly enhanced the flavor of the pizza. Taking a slice of the pizza was fun as we battled the mozzarella cheese, each of us trying to pull our slice than the other as the cheese stretched out!.
The thin crust pizza was made to perfection with it's crisp and chewy dough. The sauce topped with a little truffle oil on top was simply incredible They didn't stinge on the Mozzarella cheese making coupled with the different toppings it simply was one of the best pizza's we have had..
The toppings were awesome and really tasty. We downed the first two pizza's a Beef Pepperoni and Hawaiian in record time!
The pizza's topped with truffle oil come reasonably priced for a World Class Hotel.
I brought along 3 reviewers with me, Nikella Niksen - A Chef, Jules- A Cinematographer and Laseth T A Wine Sommelier. Their Italian General Manager Christian Nannucci and F&B Director Khalil joined us for the pizza tasting session

The overall review was that the Traders Hotel Pizza was one of the best in Kuala Lumpur. It was made to perfection. However in my books, the finishing with truffle oil makes it the best pizza in KL and BEST FB KL Highly Recommends it.
"As an Italian I'm proud of our Pizza's here, where I come from in Italy, we eat a lot of pizza's, except maybe we have it with a little less cheese than how they like it here in Malaysia, Whatever our preference may be, I will ensure we serve one of the best pizza's! "quipped Christian Nannucci.
All I Can Say Is This - The Italian Godfather has spoken! So what are you waiting for head down to the Traders Hotel and try it out.
They start serving only at 6pm. If you order in advance they will even bring it right to your car for Pick-Up orders, so you don't even have to park. I bet you will dig in to the pizza right in your car.!

Perched on the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel, this perennial favourite of KL’s party people has emerged from its chrysalis with two gleaming new bars, a revamped seating area and a culinary bay for food preparation.
The signature 26m-long pool remains the undisputed centrepiece of SkyBar, an oasis of blue amidst the polished glass and steel fittings. At times you might actually find a mermaid or two in the pool
In the day time, the afternoon sun plays hide and seek with the blinds, brilliant shafts of light spearing into the calm, cool bar interior.
Overhead, the Big Ass fan whirrs lazily, and as you sip your refreshing Mojito and all is well with the world even with the Nort
Come 6pm and this calm in the midst of chaotic KL vamps up in preparation for a night of revelry. With the setting sun as a backdrop, couples slide into the updated intimate cabanas, fingers entwined as they share a bottle of champagne or indulge in a cocktail or two. The droves are drawn in, their fancy frocks and smart suits a perfect match for the sophisticated evening ahead. Sinking into the plump cushions of the sofas, they feast their eyes on the breath-taking views of the glittery KL skyline, dominated by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers .
The high chairs and tables which seat four play home to more casual party-goers, popping in for an after-work drink or catching up with old friends. They sip at their signature cocktails as the gentle breeze from the open windows adds a touch of cool to a sultry night. Delectable morsels from the new tapas menu are nibbled on.
The two new light up bars gleam with bottles of the finest spirits while hidden in the fridges, bottles of champagne nestle to Sauvignon Blanc. KL’s finest mixologists are in a frenzy of measuring, muddling, tipping and pouring. Have the refreshing zingy frozen margarita which is subtly scented with lime or the sublime vodka-based Lychee Rose, as delicate as its name suggests, made with lychee liqueur, lychee syrup and rose syrup.
The gentle throb of upbeat music gives way to classic dance as the night goes on and revelries are tuned up a notch as the people stop watching and come out to play. As SkyBar hosts international DJs from time to time, the music draws dancers to the floor and soon it heaves with a butterfly-like flickering throng of people.
The transformation is complete. Effortless, cool, undeniably chic and unassumingly magnetic, the superlatives trip off the tongue when describing the newly-refurbished SkyBar at Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur . Hotter, sexier and cooler than ever.
