SEREMBAN: Two men - including a former national footballer - claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to allegedly trying to fix a Malaysia Premier League match.

Khairul Anuar Baharom, 43, and G. Prem Kumar, 49, were charged with offering RM10,000 each to MISC-MIFA goalkeepers S. Harivarman and Khairul Izzuwan Shaari.

The offer was an inducement to both players to ensure their team lost 0-2 to Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak.

The match was supposed to be held on April 7

Both accused allegedly committed the offences between 9pm and 10pm at the Senawang Light Industrial Area on March 27.

They were charged under section 16(b)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Act.

Judge Fathiyah Idris set bail at RM10,000 each and fixed May 31 for mention.
