Subra: Jong-nam's body still at HKL
PUTRAJAYA: Kim Jong-nam's body is still at the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, as far as the Health Ministry is concerned.
Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the body would remain under his ministry's care, until the ministry received new instructions from the Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister's Department on the matter.
"We will keep the body until a total, holistic solution is found.
"I'll have to check with the Forensics Department if there had been any requirement to take the body out, but as far as we are concerned, the status quo has not changed. The body is still at HKL," said Dr Subramaniam at a press conference after the ministry's excellence award ceremony on Tuesday.
When asked about reports that a casket, presumed to be Jong-nam's, was returned to the hospital's morgue after having been taken to a mortuary in Cheras, Dr Subramaniam said that it was "news" to him.
Jong-nam, the estranged brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was murdered at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 on Feb 13 by two women using the highly toxic and banned VX nerve agent.
He had sought help at a customer service counter in the airport, and was rushed to Hospital Putrajaya but died on the way.
Jong-nam had come to Malaysia on Feb 6, using a passport bearing the name of Kim Chol.Read more at http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017/03/28/subramaniam-jong-nam/#mKutLDU8WBMkt8Yy.99
