PETALING JAYA: Johan Nawawi (pic), popular composer and the husband to singer Nora Ariffin, passed away early Friday morning. He was 52.

Nora, who confirmed the news via a text message, said her husband died after being warded at a hospital in Subang Jaya.

The couple's son Mohd Syakir Alif said his father had died of a heart attack.

Among the popular songs Johan composed for his wife are Satu, Desa Tercinta, Naluri and Samudera.

His remains will be brought to Masjid Kampung Tunku and will be buried at the Muslim cemetery there after Friday prayers.
