JOHOR BARU: Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar wants to meet the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to share information on an agent who tried to bribe the ruler over the sale of a 'Tan Sri' title.

"I want the MACC to meet me so that this issue can be investigated as soon as possible," Sultan Ibrahim said in a statement posted on his Facebook page today.

The ruler had revealed that he was once approached by an individual who offered him RM2 million for him to propose names to the Chief Secretary to the Government so that they would receive 'Tan Sri' titles from the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong.

"This is Johor...we have our pride. You can't buy awards and titles," said Sultan Ibrahim in the statement.

In an exclusive interview with the Media Prima Bhd Group recently, Sultan Ibrahim said there were people who had come to see him and tell him that the ruler has Tan Sri quotas for sale and want to give him RM2 million for the title.

"I told the agent - whom I do not wish to name because otherwise it would be embarassing - to get lost. I do not sell titles," said Sultan Ibrahim in the interview
