MALACCA: An accused who outraged the modesty of a man fainted after hearing the decision made by the High Court here Thursday over his appeal.
Deraman Abu Chek, 60 was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance by shocked court officials when he fainted after Justice Siti Khadijah jailed him for two weeks and imposed a fine of RM10,000 for the offence committed on March 19, 2014.
In May 30, 2016, Deraman was sentenced to three months' jail and fined RM7,000 by the magistrate's court here after the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that he had squeezed the genitals of a 26-year-old man at the toilet of the Urban Transformation Centre.
He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force on a person with the intent to outrage his modesty.
