TAWAU: Police have obtained a three-day remand order on a dentist allegedly molesting at least six secondary school students here on Friday.
District police chief Assistant commissioner Fadil Marsus said the 26-year-old man, attached with the district's health clinic, is being investigated under Section 354 of Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage her modesty.
“He will be remanded for three days until Monday,
“We will expedite the investigation and forward the case to the deputy public prosecutor,” he said when contacted.
On Friday, the father of a Form Four student lodged a police report after her daughter claimed the dentist had touched her breasts during a dental check-up.
This led to the suspect's arrest at the Tawau Airport at 2.30pm the same day, as he was about to board a plane to Kuala Lumpur.
It was reported that the incident allegedly took place at the school clinic at Jalan Kampung Jawa here.
Other victims also lodged police reports on the incident.
Meanwhile, State Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said she would leave it to the police to conduct the investigation.
