IPOH: A man, believed to be homeless, has been arrested after he was caught on camera sodomising a stray dog in Teluk Intan.
Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Marzukhi Mohd Mokhtar said the suspect, in his late 40s, was arrested on Saturday, the day the incident took place.
He said police received information from the public that a man had sodomised the female dog by the roadside in Jalan Changkat Jong.
“The suspect has several previous convictions, and he has been remanded until Oct 28 for further investigation,” said ACP Mohd Marzukhi.
The Perak MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau also lodged a report over the incident at the Pekan Baru police station here yesterday.
Its chief Jimmy Loh said the video clip had gone viral and the owner of the premises, whose CCTV camera had captured the act, was afraid to lodge a report.
So Loh lodged the report together with Ipoh Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals president Ricky Soong.
He said the man, possibly a vagrant, was not aware that his act was captured on camera.
