: The country's oldest woman, aged 128, died at her home in Kg Seberang Batu Hampar near Rembau on Thursday.

SEREMBAN: The country's oldest woman, aged 128, died at her home in Kg Seberang Batu Hampar near Rembau on Thursday.

Safiah Ujang, whose identity card states that she was born on Feb 11, 1889, died around 1pm from natural causes.

Rembau OCPD DSP Ibrahim Sharif said police received a report of Safiah's death on Thursday.

He added that Safiah was laid to rest at a Muslim cemetery in her village after Asar prayers Thursday afternoon.

She is survived by her son Abdul Ghani Daud, 74, six grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
