POPULAR local radio station hitz.fm honour the best artistes in the scene with the Malaysian English Top 10 (MET 10) Awards recently.
Held at the KWC Fashion Mall in Pudu, the show celebrate the who’s who in the local English-language music and entertainment scene.
The artists who won the awards for the night have excelled in the ‘hitz.fm MET Top 10’, a weekly hour-long chart show, airing on Sundays at 3 pm. The chart show was introduced in 2000 while the first award show was launched in 2005.
Three-piece girl group De Fam wins the ‘MET 10 Best Song’ and ‘MET 10 Breakthrough Act categories while singer-songwriter OJ Law gets the ‘MET 10 Best Male Artist’ category.
The ‘MET 10 Best Female Artist’ goes to meteoric YouTube pop sensation Elizabeth Tan while post-hardcore band Tres Empre bag the ‘MET 10 Best Band/Group’ category.
Popular 90s pop-rock band OAG earn the ‘Tune Talk Hall of Fame’ award while rock band Kyoto Protocol get the ‘Met 10 Best Live Performer’ award.Local artistes such as Rappers Jin Hackman, Joe Flizzow, Altimet and Sonaone, singer-cum-entrepreneur Jason Lo and ‘Rock the World 2015’ winner Rocktrus enliven the night with their performances.
