Man blackmailed over nude photos
A 33-YEAR-OLD man was allegedly blackmailed for RM2,000 by a woman after he sent her naked photos of himself, Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported.
The man, known only as Yang from Kuala Lumpur, sent the photos to the woman via a phone chat app after the woman agreed to have sex with him on Jan 21.
The woman, who introduced herself as May Yan, invited Yang to have sex at a hotel in Sri Petaling on condition that he had to send his naked photos to prove that he did not suffer from venereal disease.
When Yang went to the hotel, he found out that the room was not registered under the woman’s name, so he left without contacting her.
Three days later, he received his naked photos with a message asking him to pay RM2,000.
Yang sought help from Community Policing Malaysia founder Kuan Chee Heng, who revealed the incident in a press conference on Thursday.
Kuan said he had received more than 20 similar cases over the past three months but only one victim lodged a police report.
“Some of the victims paid the money while others took my advice and ignored the syndicate,” he said, adding that the victims were aged between 18 and 60.
