Umno Supreme Council member Tan Sri Annuar Musa has been appointed the new information chief replacing Datuk Ahmad Maslan, party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.
Ahmad, well-known for constantly making remarks on the goods and services tax and other cost of living issues, will now head the party’s information technology bureau, in charge of cyber warfare and new media.
The duo's appointments were among the changes announced by Najib in the party's latest reshuffling exercise.
Other names mentioned included Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, who will be in charge of voters registration and party membership.
“The economic bureau chief post, which was vacant (following the death of Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis) is now going to be filled by Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani,” said Najib.
He added that Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican has been given the task of handling the bureau dealing with overseas students, the welfare bureau would be led by Samsul Anuar Nasrah and Datuk Razali Ibrahim was now in charge of the bureau overlooking private higher learning institutions.
Najib said the meeting today was also held to acknowledged the latest developments in the country including Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, and 2016 budget review. – January 29, 2016
