KUALA LUMPUR: The driver of the car that ploughed into a procession of Thaipusam devotees along the North-South Highway, killing three, has been arrested.
KL traffic police chief Asst Comm Mohd Nadzri Hussain said the driver, a 25-year-old salesman, was arrested after he made a police report at the Jalan Bandar police station.
"He was arrested around 7.20pm Saturday," he said.
Asked if the suspect fled the scene and abandoned his car out of fear, ACP Mohd Nadzri said police are still investigating the incident.
"We hope the public will stop any speculation over the incident," he said.
