It’s been one of the most talked-about acts so far on the current series of Britain’s Got Talent – but not everybody was convinced by Hypnodog.
Saturday night’s show saw Krystyna Lennon take to the stage at the auditions along with unusually talented pooch Princess, who proceeded to put a bunch of unsuspecting volunteers, including show host Ant and Dec, to sleep.

The dog even appeared to have a profound effect on Simon Cowell, whose personality seemed to change dramatically after being ‘hypnotised’ – being nice to his fellow judges and going on to give the thumbs up to the sort of acts he would normally send packing.

As it happens, Princess isn’t the first dog to show off hypnotic powers on stage – with Krystyna’s uncle Hugh Lennon, a professional hypnotist, also performing a similar act with his dog Oscar.
Hugh explained that he originally bought the black Labrador retriever as a pet, but discovered his powers after bringing him on stage during a show one night.

‘He started staring at this girl and she fell into hypnosis, without me doing a thing.’
Oscar, who retired in 2001 due to failing eyesight, also made global headlines when he went missing while performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1995.
Krystyna, also a qualified hypnotist and psychologist, took over the act in 2014 after Hugh’s retirement in 2010.
But while the act looked impressive enough, with Krystyna and Princess winning a place in the next round, opinion was divided between those convinced it was fake
