PETALING JAYA: Anita Sarawak has made the news again – not for her music, but due to confusion over her whereabouts.
Anita's half-sister Noorkumalasari Mohd Taib told Singaporean portal The New Paperthat she had not been in contact with the popular 80s singer for more than two months.
"I just hope and pray that she is okay and doing well. Maybe she is just busy travelling and taking things slowly," she was quoted as saying.
Noorkumalasari, who is also an actress, said they last spoke in March this year.
However, Harian Metro reported Noorkumalasari saying that Anita had not gone missing.
She said Anita was not missing, but had not contacted her family for two months instead.
Noorkumalasari added Anita had called their sister, Noor Jumaatua, on Tuesday from Los Angeles to tell her that she was well.
"I didn't say she was missing, I just said that it was strange that she did not message us to ask how we were like she usually does.
"Of course, when she goes silent like that we are worried, especially for her health," Noorkumalasari told the Malay daily.
