PETALING JAYA: As her fellow Kadazandusuns celebrate the start of the Kaamatan Festival in Sabah, Persana Avril Sollunda has to adjust to her new environment at the psychiatric ward of Hospital Bahagia in Perak.
Her younger brother, Peter Alvin, said on Saturday Persana arrived "on time" at the hospital in Ipoh, ahead of the Friday midnight deadline given by the court.
"She arrived just before midnight," Peter told The Star Online. Peter did not want to say more.
On Friday, Magistrate Nur A'minahul Mardiah Md Nor had ordered Persana, 32, to be warded at the hospital under section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Persana, a part-time model and spa worker, had until Friday midnight to do so or her bail would be forfeited and a warrant of arrest issued against her.
She was charged in a Magistrate's court on April 28 for stripping in public after failing to settle a bill of about RM18 at a chicken rice shop in Petaling Street.
Her lewd act was caught on a video which went viral on social media.
Kaamatan, or Harvest Festival, is held annually to celebrate the bountiful harvest and a significant date to the native Kadazandusun and Murut people in Sabah.
