"It's the colour with the seams, when I first looked up at the TV you looked topless," a viewer posted on Twitter as soon as the Australian Channel Ten show The Project went on air.
Gorgi Coghlan, who was only appearing as a stand-in host on last Wednesday's show triggered a 'Nipplegate' mania on Twitter when the optical illusion inducing outfit she wore gave the impression the host was suffering from a severe case of the chills.
Social media went into overdrive with tweets flooding the show about her nude and navy dress, which had some unfortunately placed seams that made it look like she was topless or her nipples were showing.
'It's the colour with the seams, when I first looked up at the TV you looked topless,' one user wrote on Twitter.
'It looked for a minute like Gorgi Coghlan was just wearing a very, very low blue boob tube ... Dad almost fell off his chair!' another said.

"People are questioning the air conditioning in the studio," co-host Peter Helliar even shared publicly in response to the amount of social media attention the dress received.
A recording of the news programme featuring co-host Helliar reading out the Twitter comments received was posted to Youtube on the same day and has amassed over a hundred thousand views.
As with any viral event that grips social media these days, the dress itself became a hot ticket item with many asking where they could purchase it.

Coghlan herself has expressed her bemused reaction to the media storm, sharing with the public that she has now amassed more social media fans in the hours following 'Nipplegate', than her three years online.
"More Twitter followers overnight than ever before after wearing 'that dress'," she tweeted.
"What the hell? It's just a dress."
Just several months earlier, another Channel Ten presenter Natarsha Belling had also caused a media storm with the 'penis-jacket' which featured a most distinctly-shaped neckline.
