SHAH ALAM: Tottenham striker Harry Kane’s hot scoring form continues.
He struck both goals in his team’s 2-1 win against the Malaysian Selection in a football friendly at Shah Alam Stadium on Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old English sensation, who plundered 31 goals for the Spurs in all competitions in the just concluded English Premier League season, got his brace in the 19th and 43rd minutes.
A 28,000-strong crowd turned up to watch the match and Kane did not disappoint. He drew first blood in the 19th minute when he booted home a rebound from a Thomas Carroll shot.
Brazilian Thiago Junior Aquino, one of the four foreigners in the Malaysian Selection side, then equalised with a header in the 32nd minute from Indra Putra Mahayuddin’s free-kick.
But Kane found the net again when he slotted the ball past goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat close to halftime.
Spurs, who finished fifth in the English Premier League, then made seven changes in the second half. Kane received a standing ovation when he was replaced by Nacer Chadli in the 57th minute.
Both teams tried hard to add to the scoreline, but failed.
The night ended on a joyful note as fans clapped for both teams with the Tottenham supporters singing their hearts out for the visitors.
