Spurs pledge to give 100% at Shah Alam Stadium tomorrow


     
    SUBANG: Tottenham Hotspur has pledged to give their 100% at Shah Alam Stadium on Wednesday as the Barclays Premier League side will face Malaysia XI in the AIA Cup.
    Spurs Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen said when they are on the pitch; they will always give their best and expects a tough match against Malaysia.
    "When you are on the pitch you want to win. Does not matter who you play or when you play, we should play 100%.
    "Of course with the heat and everything around it plus the season just ended, the gaffer will make some changes to the team," said the 23-year-old creative playmaker.
    The Malaysian XI will play Spurs at the Shah Alam Stadium. The Star and ProEvents International are jointly promoting the Spurs visit as part of the AIA Cup, Asia Tour.
    Players like Eriksen, Harry Kane, Nacer Chadli, Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen are here to play against the Malaysia XI
    Top scoring striker Kane said the weather is hot and humid but he is looking forward to the match against the Malaysians.

    "Really excited. It is going to be a tough game but we are going there to win it.
    It is a great opportunity for the fans to come and watch the match. I am hoping for a good turnout and everyone enjoys it," said Kane, who scored 21 goals in the Premier League.
    Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said it will be a tough game and expects Malaysia to go gung-ho as they prepare for the World Cup qualification match against East Timor..
    Malaysia XI forward Paulo Rangel, one of the five foreign players selected for the match, said he is thankful for the opportunity and it will be an important match in his career.
    "I would like to thank the coach who gave me the opportunity to play in this side. It will be an important game in life.
    "I will surely do my best for this team," said the Brazilian, who plays for Terengganu in the Malaysia Super League.
    Malaysia XI coach Dollah Salleh said playing against EPL teams is not something that comes around very often and he is confident that the team will play their best.
    "The weather will surely be an advantage to us. This is a very great chance for all the players to shine."

    Tickets can also be bought at Shah Alam Stadium from 11am to 8.30pm today and also on match day, from 11am to halftime.
