KAJANG: An Umno deputy division chief has apologised to the party for recording the "bashing" speech by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin over 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
But Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is having none of it.
“I have contacted him personally. He has said sorry. And I told him, there will be no forgiveness for you. The damage is done.
“He has to shoulder the consequences,” the Home Minister told reporters during the Ministry’s Family Day celebration in Kajang Prison on Sunday.
Zahid said the Umno man had recorded the video during a closed-door training centre in Janda Baik last week.
He added that the man had circulated it on a social media group for the party’s national division deputy chiefs in the Telegram app.
"He also shared the video with the board members of his local party division.
“Action will be taken. It will be brought to the party’s management board,” Zahid said.
On Thursday, a video of Muhyiddin’s speech calling for the sacking of 1MDB board members at a closed-door Umno event surfaced on the "Apanama" blog owned by former newsman Firdaus Abdullah.
Firdaus said he was not involved in the video recording.
