SUBANG JAYA: A man driving home was crushed to death in his car after he smashed into a barrier at the Sunway toll.
The 41-year-old man was travelling on the Damansara-Puchong highway (LDP) from Bandar Sunway towards Puchong yesterday morning when he lost control of his Toyota Camry, just as he was entering the toll plaza.
The car skidded on the pavement, flattening traffic cones before smashing into a concrete barrier separating aisles six and seven of the toll plaza, said Subang Jaya traffic police chief Deputy Supt Azman Shari’at.
The car came to a screeching halt on its side inside the toll plaza but just shy of hitting the booths.
“He was killed on the spot. No one else was injured,” DSP Azman said.
The body was taken to the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in Petaling Jaya for a post-mortem, he added.
DSP Azman said police believed the man might have been driving at a high speed which could have caused him to lose control of his vehicle
