PUTRAJAYA: Businesses that impose service charge must display notices informing customers of the fee from May 1 or risk a fine of up to RM100,000.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Alias Ahmad said the instruction had been sanctioned by minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek on Thursday.
“The notices must be displayed at the entrance of the premises where it is visible to would-be customers. The sign must be in Bahasa Malaysia, or in Bahasa Malaysia and accompanied by a translation,” said Alias at a press conference here on Friday.
