KULAIJAYA: Police have shot dead two foreign nationals believed to be responsible for 17 robberies and are currently searching for the robbers' two accomplices.
Johor Police chief Chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Rusli Ahmad said the two suspects were shot at around 3.45am, Monday near a forest reserve here on Monday.
“Our men were patrolling the area when they saw them behaving suspiciously in a car. One of the suspects then fired at the police,” he told reporters at the crime scene.
Deputy Comm Rusli said that police discovered a Proton Perdana which had been reported stolen in December 2014, a sales receipt for gold jewellery worth RM2,000, a mobile phone and a camera.
He said the suspects were believed to have been involved in 17 robbery cases in Pontian and Kulaijaya.
