Families in shock over ashes mix-up

PENANG - Two bereaved families who went to collect the ashes of their loved ones at the Bukit Berapit crematorium in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, were shocked to find out that they had been given the wrong urns.
An Indian family and a Sikh family cremated 87-year-old G. Sinnapillai and 83-year-old Hari Singh respectively at the crematorium on Saturday evening, reported Malaysia Nanban.
The Sikh family from Kulim then enquired about the missing bangle that was worn by the late Hari when he was cremated, but was told by workers that the bangle might have been thrown out.
At the same time, the Indian family who was conducting prayers was shocked to find a bangle in the urn.
Both families then made a police report at the Seberang Perai Utara police station over the confusion.
