SEPANG: A male teacher at a primary school in Dengkil here is being investigated by the police after allegedly having a special relationship with his 12-year-old student.
The immoral activity came to light after the victim's biological father came forward to lodge a police report on Feb 26 after suspecting that his daughter was often contacted by the suspect through the TikTok, Love8 and WhatsApp applications.
Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said preliminary investigations found that the messages sent by the teacher in his 30s were suspicious and did not show a professional relationship between the teacher and the students. "Based on reports, the complainant became suspicious after finding inappropriate messages between the suspect and the victim sent through several social media applications.
"The suspect is believed to have used the communication medium to communicate personally with the victim without the knowledge of the family," he said in a statement on Saturday.
According to him, the case is being investigated under Section 15(a)(iii) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017." Further investigations related to this case are still ongoing. The public is advised not to create speculation or spread untrue news and information related to this case," he said.
