The trick was revealed in a raid by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Anti-Migrant Smuggling Division (ATIPSOM), D3, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), at an entertainment center at Jalan Kuchai Maju 11, here, at 1am this morning.
It was found that customers interested in the woman of their choice had to pay a sum of money to the 'mummy' before being given a lighted bracelet.
It is understood that the selected woman will be given a tip to accompany customers with karaoke and drinks in the same building.
Meanwhile, Chief Assistant Director of D3 Atipsom, JSJ Bukit Aman, Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadil Marsus said that the Entertainment Center Bypass Operation was carried out in collaboration with the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Migrant Anti-Smuggling Council (MAPO) and the Anti-Corruption, Gambling and Dark Sharing Division (D7) of JSJ Bukit Aman. "A total of 23 foreign women suspected of GRO consisting of two Indonesians and 21 Thai's have been arrested.
"Also arrested was a local woman believed to be acting as a 'mummy' in addition to two local men and three Bangladeshi men," he said.
He said that all those arrested were between 21 and 52 years old. He said, the premises is a pub and karaoke entertainment center and is believed to have been operating for about two months.
"The case is being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63, Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 and Section 186 of the Penal Code.
