The Court allowed the temporary release of Rosmah Mansor’s passport for her to be in Singapore to meet her daughter, after no objection from DPP

PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal today allowed the temporary release of Rosmah Mansor’s passport for her to be in Singapore to meet her daughter, Nooryana Najwa Najib.

Rosmah Mansor’s passport has been temporarily released for her to travel to Singapore after the DPP did not object to her application.

A three-member bench chaired by Justice P Ravinthran made the order after hearing submissions from Rosmah’s lawyer, Jagjit Singh.

Ravinthran said the passport will be released today for Rosmah to be in Singapore between June 15 and July 7. DPP Poh Yih Tinn did not object to the application. Rosmah is required to surrender her passport to the court on or by July 7.

“In view of there being no objection from the prosecution, this application is allowed,” he said.

This is the third time that Rosmah, the wife of jailed former prime minister Najib Razak, is applying for the release of her passport to enable her to travel to Singapore.

The first application was made on Oct 15, 2021.

The second, covering the period March 23 to May 6, was made to enable her to help care for a sick grandson.

Her daughter Nooryana is married to Daniyar Kessikbayev, a Kazakhstan national. The couple and their two sons now reside in Singapore.
