Johor Police hunt individuals who spread information on 12 enforcement officers

JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor police are on the hunt for individuals responsible to spread the name list of 12 enforcement officers who were detained on suspicion of being involved in unlawful activities by the ‘Nicky Gang’.
State police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said police have detected that the confidential information was disseminated via the WhatsApp application.
“Actions can be taken under Section 203A(1) of the Penal Code which provides for a fine of not more than RM1 million or imprisonment of up to one year or both,” he said in a statement here, today.
In a news conference this afternoon, Ayob Khan said 10 Royal Malaysia Police and two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers were detained under phase 2 of Ops Pelican 3.0 from April 21 until today.
All of them, aged 36 to 49, were picked up around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.
