Syed Saddiq named Pakatan Harapan's candidate for Muar

MUAR: Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman will be Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the Muar parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election.
Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad made the announcement on the candidature of Syed Saddiq, who is the Youth chief of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) which is currently disbanded for 30 days, during the ‘Harapan Malaysia’ political talk in Parit Jawa here tonight.
Dr Mahathir also announced Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub as Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the Simpang Renggam parliamentary seat; Ledang Amanah chief Dr Faizul Amri Adnan to contest in the Serum state seat; and Johor Amanah Wanita chief Norhayati Bachok as the candidate for the Maharani state seat.
In the 13th general election, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim won the Muar parliamentary seat by defeating Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) Norhizwan Ahmad with a 1,646 vote majority.
However, no announcement was made as to where PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be contesting. --Bernama © New Straits Times Press
