Snacks on a plane: Airplane dining in downtown KL takes off
KUALA LUMPUR: Those who dread flying or airline food might change their minds at Malaysia's first aircraft restaurant.
Situated right smack in Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, Plane in the City serves "passengers" a three-course fine dining meal cooked by Le Meridien executive chef Antoine Rodriguez on an actual Boeing 737 plane.
And just like on an actual airline, dining menus are categorised into economy class (RM199), business class (RM399) and first class (RM999).
Guests may also add on a selection of canapes, desserts and celebration cakes for birthdays and anniversaries.
The entire experience lasts for 90 minutes and sits 20 people per session.
"This looks easier than it actually is... it's something that you would not have thought was possible," said Arvin Randhawa, chief executive officer of TwoSpicy Entertainment Live, the team behind the immensely popular Dining in the Sky.
