PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri M. Kayveas, fondly known to his supporters as Uncle Bond, has withdrawn his resignation letter from MyPPP.

In an Instagram post, the former MyPPP president said he was withdrawing the letter sent on April 23.

"I have no alternative but to withdraw my earlier peaceful and amicable intention to step down which was refused by the Supreme Council and resume all my duties," wrote Kayveas in his post.

He added that MyPPP needed to change its ways to restore its "respect and credibility".

He also posted a photo of another letter to the party's Supreme Council members on the withdrawal of his resignation letter, dated April 27, on his social media post.

In the letter, he alleged that there had been an attempt by the party's senior vice president and secretary-general to hijack the party.

The MyPPP senior vice president is Datuk Maglin Dennis D'Cruz, who is now acting president, while the secretary-general is Datuk Mohan Kandasamy.

"Since there is an attempt to hijack the party by conspiration between senior vice president and secretary-general, and an attempted coup d'etat, I shall remain and resume my 'duties and power' as the lawful president and bring discipline and unity in such a beautiful and truly 1Malaysia party of the future," he wrote in the letter.

The saga began after Kayveas posted his resignation letter from MyPPP on social media on Wednesday, April 25, saying that he had relinquished all his positions in the party.

The party reacted by calling a press conference the same day to announce that Kayveas had instead been sacked from MyPPP.

Secretary-general Datuk Mohan Kandasamy said that Kayveas was sacked from the party on Tuesday night (April 24), the day before Kayveas posted on social media of his resignation, after an emergency disciplinary committee meeting.

Mohan said that the meeting was held after the party leadership received a letter from Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor on Tuesday morning to "caution" Kayveas.
