PETALING JAYA: MyPPP president Tan Sri M. Kayveas (pic) has relinquished all his posts in the party.
He posted on his Facebook page and on Twitter that he has stepped down as the party president, its Kuala Lumpur chairman and Perak advisor role effective Monday (April 23).
Kayveas had earlier threatened to quit Barisan Nasional because he was unhappy that MIC was being allocated the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat.
MyPPP had been lobbying Barisan to contest the seat, where it has been working for several years.
On April 22, MIC named its Youth chief Datuk C. Sivarraajh as the candidate for Cameron Highlands.
MyPPP senior vice-president Maglin Dennis D'cruz will be acting president until June, when the party’s elections are due.
MyPPP has called for a press conference at noon today (April 25) to provide further information.
