KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang PKR Youth chief Adam Rosly Abdullah (pic) has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment for furnishing false statements and documents to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) during a probe into his wealth last year.

The Sessions Court also fined him RM30,000 for the offences on Thursday (April 26).

Adam Rosly was accused of giving recorded false statements to two MACC investigating officers under Section 32 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.

This was in relation to his career as a businessman, his income, luxury car and bungalow worth RM1.2mil in Kampung Melayu Ampang, which was bought by cash, a RM200,000 loan from his mother-in-law and late grandmother, as well as a RM500,000 loan allegedly from a loan shark.

He was charged with committing the offences at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya between 9am and 12.15pm on Feb 10, 2017, and between 9am and 2pm on Feb 22 in the same year.
