IPOH: Cosmetics millionaire Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman has been ordered to settle her income tax dues amounting to RM4.6 million before May 21.
The amount is being claimed by the taxman from the founder of Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd, who is better known as Datuk Seri Vida, for five years of arrears. The matter was decided by Judicial Commissioner Anselm Charles Fernandis after lawyer Nor Hidayah Mohd Anas from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) filed the claims. Hasmiza, 47, was not present in court and was represented by her counsel Zailan Mohamed. IRB in its statement of claims is demanding RM4,686,435.79 in arrears from 2011 to 2015.

She made the payment after she was charged with committing 16 offences relating to GST payment. Prior to thatm she was also fined RM80,000 after she pleaded guilty to charges of failing to submit the GST statements.
