KOTA BHARU -- The Kelantan police is seeking public information to assist investigation on acts of mischief, believed by the same suspect/s, for damage to a church and a temple at Jalan Hamzah just after midnight.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said the first incident happened at a Methodist church and was realised by a caretaker at the premises upon hearing an explosion on the upper floor of the building.
“The caretaker went to the second flood of the church and found a mirror there broken and also water filter tank with burnt marks,” he said when met at the Kelantan police contingent headquarters here today.
Hasanuddin said preliminary investigation found that the tank was hurled from a moving Nissan Livina car on the elevated road to Pasir Pekan.
The second incident, at the Subramaniyar Temple, located besides the church, was believed to happen soon after, he said, adding that police also found a water filter tank in the temple, believed to have been thrown out into the building from the same vehicle.
He said [police were investigating the case under 295 of the Penal Code and urged those with information to contact the Kota Bharu police or the nearest police station.
Earlier, he received a courtesy call from members of the Kelantan Council of Justices of the Peace (JP), led by its acting president, Datuk Seri Zukri Samat.
