SHAH ALAM: Indonesian Siti Aisyah, accused of murdering North Korean Kim Chol, was paid only RM400 by a Japanese man to participate in a prank show, the High Court heard.

Ninth prosecution witness ASP Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz testified the accused was approached by a taxi driver who introduced her to a man known as James or Ri Ji Yu.

The taxi driver, known as Kamaruddin, had approached Siti Aisyah outside a nightclub in Kuala Lumpur.

The witness agreed with a suggestion by Siti Aisyah’s lawyer Gooi Soon Seng, who said that Kamaruddin (aka John) was the person who introduced Siti Aisyah to James or Ri Ji Yu on Jan 5, 2017, at Pavilion shopping mall.

Gooi: I put it to you John asked Siti Aisyah if she was interested with the offer, to be aired on YouTube in Japan, and that Kamaruddin’s boss, who is a Japanese, was looking for an actress for the show?

ASP Wan Azirul: I do not agree.

The witness also said that Siti Aisyah told the police that the meeting between her and Kamaruddin was about acting in the show.

He also disagreed with Gooi that Siti Aisyah carried out three pranks on three people near a fountain outside the Pavilion entrance.

Kim Chol is the alias used by Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, whenever he travelled.
