Police record Isa's statement over Jalan Semarak land sale

PUTRAJAYA: Police have taken the statement of former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad over the controversial Jalan Semarak land sale.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun confirmed that Isa went to Bukit Aman on Thursday morning (Jan 4) to be questioned, Bernama reported.

"He has given his statement this morning at Bukit Aman. There are other individuals with relations to the case who will also be called up. I don't have to reveal who they are. We will arrange for them to be questioned soon," Mohamad Fuzi told reporters after a Home Ministry event here.

Felda was at risk of losing over RM200mil from the dubious land deal in 2015, according to reports.

Isa was the chairman of Felda at that time.

The land title transfer is believed to have occurred after Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) had appointed a local company as the main developer on June 3, 2014, and awarded it full power of attorney to develop the land.

Police have set up a special task force to investigate the matter.
