Malaysians top the list of binge-watching television series in Asia

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians top the list of binge-watching television series in Asia, according to the world's leading online video streaming service Netflix.
In a recent study by the entertainment company, Malaysia ranked ahead of Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Calling these avid fans as "Binge Racers", Netflix said the top 10 most binged shows in Malaysia include Stranger Things, Narcos, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and Marvel's The Defenders.
Malaysia was also top globally with the highest percentage of Binge Racers for American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
"Netflix allows you to watch in a way you never could before and there's nothing better than seeing a show engage our members and ignite a passion for viewing," said Brian Wright, Vice President, Original Series in a statement.
Binge Racers are defined as members who completed a season of a TV show within 24 hours of its release on Netflix.
According to Netflix, Binge Racing behaviour has grown from 200,000 members in 2013 to more than 5 million in 2017.
