Two charged with CBT over Felda sturgeon project\
KUALA LUMPUR: Two former Felda senior officers were charged in a Sessions Court here on Wednesday with committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving a RM47.6mil sturgeon-breeding project in Pahang.
Former deputy general manager strategic Muhammad Sufi Mahbub, 53, faces two counts of committing CBT by entering into two agreements with two companies via Felda's subsidiary Felda Investment Corporation.
Muhammad Sufi had approved payments of nearly RM26mil and RM22mil without approval from the board of directors, and was charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code for CBT.
Former general manager Datuk Faizoull Ahmad, 57, was charged with two counts of abetting Muhammad Sufi in committing the offence and was charged under Section 109 of the Code.
The offence was said to have been committed at Wisma Felda, Jalan Perumahan Gurney here between January and July, 2014.
Judge Allaudeen Ismail fixed RM1mil bail in one surety for each accused. Both claimed trial to the charges.
He ordered the accused to pay a RM500,000 deposit by Wednesday and the remainder to be paid on or before March 22.
The judge also accepted a land grant to be used to post the remaining bail if the accused have insufficient cash.
The court later set April 27 for mention.
