Woman saves daughter but will lose unborn child after road accident
BEIJING: A pregnant woman was seriously injured but her young daughter escaped unharmed after the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a concrete mixer truck in southeast China, a newspaper reported.
The accident happened in Jiaxing in Zhejiang province on Monday, the Qianjiang Evening News reported.
The woman and girl were riding pillion on the bike and were dragged under the wheels of the truck, according to the article.
The mother managed to pull the girl under her body to save her from injury, but the woman was seriously hurt and will need to have her right leg amputated.
The woman, who was five months pregnant, would also need an abortion because the medication she must take to deal with her injuries would harm her unborn child, the report said.
