JOHOR BARU: A father in a drunken stupor threatened his teenage daughter with a samurai sword before raping and sodomising her.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh said the 42-year-old man was detained after his ex-wife and the victim lodged a police report on Wednesday.
He said the 17-year-old girl, from Selangor, was sexually assaulted at her father’s house in Taman Desa Tebrau on Tuesday.
Initial investigations showed that the girl was sent to stay with her father last week so that she could undergo traditional treatment for epilepsy.
“On Monday, he took her sightseeing around the city before they came back at around 12.30am.
“At around 2am, he tried to hug and kiss the victim but when she fought back, he took out his samurai sword and threatened to harm her if she did not give in,” ACP Sulaiman said in a press statement here yesterday.
The victim claimed she was raped thrice and even sodomised by her father, who was in a drunken rage at the time.
After the incident, the girl called her mother, who immediately came to Johor Baru to lodge a police report.
“Initial investigations showed that the parents divorced in 2006 after being married for about seven years. They have three children.
“The victim is their first child, who only met her father once every two or three years,” ACP Sulaiman said.
He added that the man had been remanded to assist in investigations.
