PETALING JAYA: Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has clarified that his Facebook post on the 1992 constitutional crisis does not mean that he supports the current leadership.
In response to a question posed by a journalist on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page, the Johor Crown Prince said his comments on Wednesday were meant for the Government.
"I made these comments to ensure and to remind the Federal Government that this doesn't happen again regardless of who the head is," he said on Thursday.
The 1992 constitutional crisis escalated into a special Parliamentary session in December 1992 which saw the passing of a unanimous resolution to curb the powers of rulers.
The decision eventually led to the 1993 amendments to the Federal Constitution, which stripped royals of their legal immunity.
Tunku Ismail added that his post was also not directed at former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad or anyone else.
"I don't support anyone who is corrupted," he clarified.
He further reminded the media not to twist and take his words out of context.
When probed further by the journalist on who he supports, Tunku Ismail replied "Johor".
