Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said action will be taken as the incident do not represent the "attitude" of Umno.
He, however, refused to admit the involvement of the party's members and instead said that he would leave the investigation to the police.
"I do not know who was responsible, some say Umno was responsible.
"People can use Umno's name, but we do not know if this is true."
He said so after delivering Raya clothes to orphans at a mall in Kuala Lumpur today.
Yesterday, about 30 individuals stormed Komtar and torched a DAP flag in retaliation to the attempted removal of an Umno logo in front of Menara Umno in Penang.
The group was led by Penang Umno state liaison secretary Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzil.
Last Friday, officers from the Penang Island City Council attempted to bring down an Umno logo at Menara Umno as the party did not obtain permission from local authorities before putting up the structure.
They were unable to bring down the structure as they were stopped by Umno members, but the council had served building owners a one-week notice to take down the structure. – June 24, 2015.
