KUALA LUMPUR: A 'Spider-Man' robber scaled the side of a building to escape police but ended up needing their help to get down, after he got stuck on a ledge.
Police were attempting to bust the man and his two friends at a budget hotel room in Sungai Besi at 3am Saturday when the three men tried to flee via the window on the fourth floor.
The three are believed to be perpetrators of several hotel robberies in the city.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said officers pursued and arrested two of the suspects on the roof of the hotel.
The 'Spider-Man', however, took his chances on the narrow ledge and found himself trapped between a pillar on the right, police above and a four-floor drop to the bottom.

“He got stuck there. We had to call the Fire and Rescue Department to help us bring him down safely,” said SAC Zainuddin.
The robber remained on the ledge for about an hour and 45-minutes before he was finally rescued.
His relief was short-lived, though, as he was taken off the ledge and put straight into handcuffs.
The three suspects, aged between 24 and 38, have two criminal records between them for drugs and robbery.
They are believed to have been involved in at least three hotel robberies here this year, and another four in 2014.
