SUNGAI BULOH: Police have identified the two boys found with their throat slits at the home in Taman Sri Putra on Tuesday as stepbrothers Koay Jia Hong, five, and 18-month old Melvin Selvam Joseph.
The victims are believed to have been killed by their Indonesian maid who later committed suicide.
Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Junaidi Bujang said initial investigations revealed that the maid, in her 30s, had slit the throat of five-year-old Koay upstairs before killing the younger stepbrother in the same manner on the ground floor near the kitchen.
Supt Junaidi said that the maid then killed herself then slit her own throat. He said three knives were found beside the maid.
“We found no signs of forced entry,” he said adding that, the maid did not have any official documents.
The victims’ family members were still reeling from shock when met at the crime scene, describing the maid as very caring and loving towards the children.
A neighbour, S. Sivakumar, 34, said no one else was at the home at the time of the incident.
“The family usually goes out in the morning to operate their restaurant nearby, leaving the maid and the two boys at home,” he said, adding that there were nine people living in the house.Maid who allegedly killed stepbrothers and committed suicide an illegal, says Indonesian official

SUNGAI BULOH: The Indonesian maid who murdered stepbrothers Koay Jia Hong, five, and 18-month old Melvin Selvam Joseph before taking her own life is believed to be an illegal immigrant.
Indonesian Embassy consular affairs counsellor Dino Nurwahyudin said that the woman had no travel documents and her true identity is still a mystery.
“We do not know who she is or how she entered the country as there are no documents or papers with her or her employers.
“We are currently working with police both in Malaysia and Indonesia to ascertain her identity and hope to find her next of kin,” he said when met at Sungai Buloh Hospital mortuary earlier today.
