Woman Attacked by German Shepherd, receives 28 stitches

   
GEORGE TOWN: A woman was given 28 stitches for injuries on the head, thigh and arm after she was attacked by a neighbour's dog in Solok Bukit Jambul, here, on Sunday.
Badriah Hanani Abu Bakar, 53, was bitten by the dog, believed to be a German Shepherd, while talking to a neighbour in front of their house at 8.15am.
Suhaimi Ismail, 59, said in the attack, the dog lunged at his wife, causing her to fall on the road, adding that she had to be given 13 stitches for injuries on her head.
"My wife was also given 12 stitches on her left arm and three on her right thigh, and she is still being treated at a hospital in Bayan Baru," he said on Monday.  
He said a report was made at the Sungai Nibong police station and complaints were also lodged with the Penang Island Municipal Council and the Veterinary Services Department.
Penang CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah confirmed that police had received a report on the case.
