SUNGAI SIPUT 28 Nov. - Two robbers were killed and another escaped after their stolen vehicle crashed with a lorry after they had robbed the owner of the vehicle who had been on her rounds collecting loan payments in Kampung Temin, near here yesterday.
Sungai Siput police chief Superintendent Azman Salim said one of the suspects was killed at the scene, the second suspect died at Sungai Siput Hospital and the third suspect escaped in another car and police were tracking him down.
"Investigations found that one of the dead suspect is a 37-year-old man from Kuala Kangsar, while the other, 42, is from here."
Azman said in the noon incident, the 22-year-old woman, who worked with Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, was on her rounds collecting loan payments when her Proton Saga was blocked by a Proton Wira with the three suspects.
He said two of the suspects, one armed with parang, alighted from the Proton Wira and forced the woman to get out from her car and they was unharmed.
It is believed that the suspects drove off with the victim's car and collided head-on with the lorry.
Azman said police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim's car.
Sungai Siput assistant fire officer Zul Azman Jamaluddin headed the operation to remove the bodies trapped in the wreckage of the car.
He said fire and rescue personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 12.24pm.

Setelah memecut kereta Saga perompak telah bertembung dengan sebuah lori dari arah bertentangan menyebabkan seorang perompak cedera parah dan mati ditempat kejadian dan seorang lagi mati di Hospital Sg Siput, manakala seorang lagi menghilangkan diri dengan Proton Wira. Kejadian berlaku betul bersebelahan kubur.
