KUALA LUMPUR: A detailed investigation needs to be carried out regarding the dissemination of a video of the commotion involving the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing who was allegedly abusing his authority at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), yesterday.
King Sing through a video lasting 4 minutes 29 seconds which was uploaded on his Facebook account on Friday explained, will refer to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) to investigate the mastermind behind the spread of the video.
He also claimed that the dissemination of the video was a deliberate act to cover up the wrongdoing and corrupt activities that took place at the arrival station.
"Why are immigration people so afraid of people spreading their pictures. The reason for this spread I can confirm 100 percent from Immigration myself because I am in the immigration office," he said.
He said that the mastermind who took and spread the video should be investigated immediately for spreading false news.
"I want a complete investigation. Check the viral picture from whose phone and I ask MCMM to do it and investigate this officer.
"Why did he do it, why did he make inaccurate news, make slanderous accusations. Did he want to save a few of his officers," he insisted.
Commenting further on the incident, the Chinese woman who was detained admitted that there were high-ranking officials who asked for payment to be released.
"There are officials who ask for RM3,000 and pay for the visa process of RM12,000, this is not a law from the Unity Government.
"I also understand that if they pay this toll, they can go through a special lane and this is a problem that arises," he explained.
He added that his party requested the good services of the Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil to investigate the matter.
"I also want all parties to join hands to maintain the image in advancing the national economy," he said

On Friday, King Sing admitted he was the individual who was reported to be involved in the commotion at the KLIA international arrival hall.
However, King Sing denied allegations that the uproar arose because he demanded the Immigration Department release visitors from China.
"I am grateful, because my presence at KLIA has uncovered an event that shames the country when there is a culture of corruption committed by a few officials and chronic abuse of power at the entrance of the country," he claimed in a statement.
In addition, King Sing also urged the MACC to carry out a massive operation at KLIA to examine the true reality at the country's main gateway.
"I was also told that there are immigration officers who ask for money to be given if the detained foreign tourists want to be released.
"Some are asking for up to RM3,000 to be released from detention including a flight ticket back to their country of origin.
"An additional RM3,000 is requested if you want to return to your home country immediately through a 'special route', while RM12,000 is for the cost of processing a visa.
"All this information will be submitted to the MACC so that the investigation can be carried out in order to restore Malaysia's image, especially at the entrance of the country," he claimed.
